Three great free fonts

These three have been regularly rotating in my font collection over the last few months – particularly Quicksand, which is simply fantastic. But see for yourself!

1. Quicksand

Quicksand Free Font

Professional, free and packed with variations – it doesn’t get much better than Quicksand. My favourite versions are Light and Dash Light. When designing mockups I often use Quicksand in place of a light Helvetica Neue because it renders so much better in Photoshop.

2. Delicious Heavy

Delicious Heavy Free Font

Very delicious. I used this as the logo for the Cute Bingo site and a few other small projects. Very stylish and suitable for many different uses.

3. Freebooter Script

Free Booter Script

Often you have to dig a little bit deeper than DaFont to find the top free fonts, but Freebooter is one of the classics to be found on the site. I’m using this for an Online Butcher to be launched shortly. It might seem a bit cursive for that, but with some tweaks – it’s perfect. These guys also have the fantastic Scriptina if you like their style.
