It seems I’m not the only one that has had issues with the WordPress login page (wp-admin) reloading itself without logging in.
I made a post on the WordPress support thread with my fix, though thought I should expand here. This may not fix the issue for all users, as the reloading might be the result of other problems or faulty plugins.
Sometimes it’s the absolute simplest questions that you have to dig around for online!
This had me stumped for five or ten minutes, until I saw a comment on the Bing Twitter.
Which user agent / bot does Bing.com use to crawl your site?
The answer is msnbot.
To add msnbot to your robots.txt file, add the following:
User-agent: msnbot
After the trip to the UK with my current employer, I am back in Sydney, Australia and looking for the next challenge!
I’ve made an enjoyable progression over the last few years through Journalism, some authoring in Publishing, a few nights out Sydney-Socialising, playing Bingo Mogul at the top of Google with some SEO and, most recently, making sure you click on my PPC ads. Water anyone?
There was also some time left to make some music, design a simple site or two, take a tonne of photos, model for a bookcover and get my snaps on National TV.
Continuing with the theme of dofollow, I’ve just installed the Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin from the Turk Hit Box.
Rather than making every comment dofollow, like KeywordLuv, this plugin changes any trackbacks to dofollow.
Meaning that when someone links to your post, they receive a link (via a trackback that appears as a comment) on your original post.
Recently there’s been a shift in blogs supporting or allowing, in a passive way at least, the link building efforts of other sites by making comment links dofollow.
As with any online trend it didn’t take long for the spammers to curb the opportunities available to more genuine sites looking to build relevant links and, for that matter, for dofollow etiquette to evolve.
The time was right to put my half-realised ideas to fruition and finally put iamseo.org online.
I’ve been wanting to use this domain for some time, mostly to document my learnings and experiments in SEO, as well as a base for other resources, trends and ideas that I come across.
I don’t at all claim to be an SEO expert – I am SEO is just a term I often read in link requests, and one I thought fitting. I am still learning, experimenting and continually looking for new ideas and practices to test.
All the same, this isn’t about speaking into the mirror, so I hope there is something that here that you find interesting or can learn from.
